Week One | July Jamboree
From July Jamboree Director, Kesia:
1. Weekly Highlights
The beginning of the program was quite chaotic due to the large amount of kids registering on the first day. But, by the second day the program ran efficiently and all of the children were able to participate in our Bible, Theatre, Imagination, Music, Dance and Games stations. This week’s theme was “Weird Animals,” and the children were assigned to sixteen different crews named after endangered species such as: Giant Pandas, Honey Bees, and Siberian Tigers.
The main message the kids learned this week was, “No matter what, Jesus loves us.” In our Bible station, the kids were taught five stories from the Bible in which Jesus helped people, and they were given necklaces with their Bible memory buddies on the front, and bible verses on the back. In our other stations (Imagination and Theatre), our campers were given current, real-life examples of Jesus loving kids around the world despite their flaws. Lastly, in our Music and Dance stations the children praised God through singing and dancing.
2. Prayer Requests
Kids

- Pray for safety over the entire camp
3. Two Spotlights
Kids
At July Jamboree we value our most energetic and fun campers. For the first week of the program, Jason Melendez (12) of the Black Rhinos crew was recognized by several staff members for his good behavior, participation, high energy, willingness to learn in our Bible station and teamwork in our Games station. Our staff members also nominated five year-old Samantha Rara of the Hummingbirds crew for her good behavior and excellent dance moves.
Staff
For the first week of July Jamboree, two of our staff members went above and beyond our expectations. Our Music and Dance instructors, Daryl Ventura and Ilsy Vasquez both displayed a passion for teaching the kids song and dance. Not only did they teach their children about the word of God, but they also made their classes fun.
